Freeroll #3: 1011th place

I played pretty poorly today. I played a lot of marginal hands, and had to fold after the flop or the turn. All of my good hands never got called. My AK, KK, AQs, would just fold around to the blinds, who would always fold. Which is okay, but I would have much rather played them. I went out on K9s. It lost to TT. I had a flush draw, and my opponent had already made a set on the flop. He pushed me all in, and I was pot committed, so I made the call. Pretty lame. No hand break down tonight, none of them were really that great.

This is just plain the problem with freerolls. If I were doing your experiment, just for my own sanity I would probably go for $10 to the WSOP. It doesn't have the same flair, but the number of hours it takes to beat a freeroll and the number of bad beats you will take along the way would be worth the change.

The difference in just moving to a $1 is staggering. People need to have invested something.

Good luck either way. My sympathies for all the bad beats you've taken and will continue to take.

If you haven't already, go to twoplustwo.com's forums and find "Anatomy of a free roll". Very good reading.
